Stove-top fans circulate the hot air that comes from the stove around the room warming the whole room up much quicker than would happen without one. Mine blows over the vertical flue towards a bit of the room that would otherwise be a bit out of the normal air circulation, they really do make a significant difference.

Stove-top fans are powered by the difference in temperature of the base that sits in contact with the top of your stove and the top of the cooling fins. So as if by magic they start up when the stove starts to get hot and run as long as it stays hot enough to need them. No installation and batteries or other energy source is required - ever!
