A large evergreen shrub with dark green elliptical leaves. Heads (cymes) of up to 100 white flowers in summer are followed by round red berries about 1/4" long and persist over winter.

Height and spread: 4m x 4m (12ft x 12ft)

Soil: moist, well-drained, will tolerate dry positions

Position: full sun or partial shade

Rate of growth: slow - medium

Hardiness: fully hardy

Uses - Hedging / mixed border

Planting distance when used for hedging: 45-60cm, 18-24"

Clipped height: 1.5-2.2m, 5-7ft

Number of times to clip per season and when: 1, after fruiting

Pruning: Usually requires minimal pruning. Prune in winter or mid spring if required.
